Adorn in her formal garb, Catalina rests framed in a serene vacuum of violet hues. Protruding from her body, delicate growths proudly display her age and hierarchy similarly to that of deer. This portrait expands on my exploration of nature and fluid forms.

A dying species of parasitic worm gasps for resurrection as it zombifies its host. What appear to be horns are the bird's swollen antennae. This parasitic worm burrows in the brain controlling its host in order to extend its life. This piece is part of a series exploring the natural and disturbing beauty of wildlife and it's many ways of survival. Colored pencil on wood panel

Leucochloridium is a parasitic worm that invades the bird's eyestalks, where it pulsates to imitate a caterpillar known as aggressive mimicry—an organism pretending to be another to lure prey or get itself eaten. The worm then mind-controls its host out into the open for hungry prey to pluck out its eyes and infect another host.
